i know some might think that its cliche to be blogging about the sichuan earthquake 'cause everyone's talking about it in their blog. but i think otherwise.

i figured i need to do my lil' bit in reminding everyone how lucky we are. to be able to see our family and friends each day. to be able to have a bed to sleep on. to be able to have our meals and to be able to sit in front of the comp to read this lil' entry.

im dedicating this entry to the people suffering in sichuan and to all mothers.

yesterday's charity show was heartaching beyond words. im really touched to see everyone doing their part to raise as much funds as possible for the victims. the amount of money we donate might be insignificant as compared to what companies and the rich can afford but i believe that our donations will go a long way. most importantly, its the thoughts that count.

the mother that protected her baby from death is awesome. her last text to her lil' baby made me teared like mad. till the last moment of her life, she protected her angel and deep inside her, she hoped for the baby's survival.

theres another story about a mother who put her baby on her breast for breast milk before she left the world. her last hope is that the baby will continue to survive and not die of hungerness. and true enough, it was because of her breast milk that the baby fed on, the lil' angel survived.

theres also this old lil' granny who said while crying, 'what am i to do now? im all alone. (wo xian zai yao ze me ban?)' my heart literally ached when i saw her, in her head of white hair, wiping her tears away when more were flowing out and looking helpless. sigh.

ive a friend who told me this: 'what they need is not pity and condelence, but hope. pity and condolence will only pull them into misery, only with hope can they move forward, towards the future that awaits them."

so go do your lil' part in giving them hope and showing them love. :)

the greatest thing you'll ever learn is just to love and be loved in return.
